ENGLISH AT GATE

Women Only Classes

These classes are for those who prefer to study in an all female environment with a female teacher. The lessons provide students with practice in the key areas of language learning, ie, language structures, vocabulary extension, reading, writing, speaking and listening. At lower levels we emphasise speaking practice and vocabulary for practical situations to assist students with life in the UK
Students will benefit from the following features:

  • Daytime or evening classes for flexibility
  • Maximum class size of 8

English for Juniors

These classes are for young students ideally from 10 to 15 years(year five to year eleven ) who require additional support in their English language skills.  Our courses run within the framework of the UK academic year and runs after school from 4pm to 5:30pm.  The lessons are tailored to meet the needs of students who are non-native speakers of the English language who need extra support with grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
Students will benefit from the following features:

  • After school classes with an experienced EAL junior teacher
  • Maximum class size of 8


Childcare Facilities

At GATE, we offer childcare facilities for students and teachers if required. Please check for avaliability.

  • Maximum class size of 8 children
  • Aged between 1-5 years old
  • £4 per child per hour

 

One to One lessons

This is a very intense way of learning English and will ensure that the student gains the maximum benefit from the class. The teacher can focus entirely on the needs of the student and give him or her 100% attention.
Our one to one lessons are tailored to the students' requirements and the course will be designed on the basis of a needs analysis, completed in advance by the student. Lessons can be taken on a part or full time basis.

Exam Preparation Classes (part time)

These classes provide students with preparation and practice for the IELTS exam.
They are ideal for those who need to polish their skills before the exam. As the course is part time (4 hours a week)   it is recommended that students should be at an Upper Intermediate level at the point of enrolment. Homework is an important part of this course and students must be prepared to study outside lessons to benefit in the best way.
Lessons include:

  • Exam practice (past papers etc)
  • Techniques needed for each paper
  • Mock exam and interview
  • Regular marked homework
  • Regular tutorials

Should you need practical assistance for any matter, for example, help with doctor’s/dentist appointments, childcare, banking issues, etc we are happy to help you as much as possible, just ask a member of staff in the office.
